Architecture Overview
WizTom for PowerBuilder is based on the same technology as
WizTom for
Windows. To fully translate PowerBuilder specific controls such
as DataWindows, WizTom for PowerBuilder comes with a specialized
extension
to expand WizTom for Windows capabilities and gain full-control over
your PowerBuilder application.
As a result, not only is WizTom for PowerBuilder capable of translating
the basic user interface (menus, labels, etc.), but it also handles
DataWindows and all PowerBuilder specific controls, providing the ability
to enable or disable translation of database-populated controls, resize
controls and windows, change fonts, etc.
Thanks to WizTom for PowerBuilder, companies like Baxter Healthcare (US)
and Unisys (UK) were able to ship out multilingual versions of their
applications (including Japanese versions), with no impact on their
development cycles.

PowerBuilder Extractor
WizTom for PowerBuilder also provides a specialized extractor to work
directly from PowerBuilder code and GUI design. This extractor connects
to your PowerBuilder Libraries (PBLs) using PowerBuilder's ORCA APIs.
Code and properties associated to the objects making up your application
are then scanned, and the PowerBuilder Extractor collects strings such as
error messages, labels, window titles, etc. After the extraction process
is finished, these strings are sent to the WizTom Multilingual Database
for translation.
