| Installation
Procedure |
|
|
Before installing WizTom Studio, make sure
that the Sentinel Dongle is attached to
your computer's printer port. If a printer
is already connected to your computer, the
Sentinel Dongle may be plugged in between
the computer and the printer.
Insert the WizTom CD in your CD-ROM drive;
the WizArt Installer should start automatically.
If not, open the Windows Start Menu, choose
"Run" and type the following command:
D:\setup.exe (where "D" is your
CD-ROM drive letter) and click on the OK
button.

Installing
the Sentinel Driver |
 |
|
|
If the computer has never been configured to
use the Sentinel Driver, this is the first step
in the installation. You do not need to install
the Sentinel Driver each time you install a version
of WizTom Studio.
From the WizArt Installer, select the "Sentinel
Driver" icon and click on the Install button.
A new window should pop up: this is the Rainbow
Technologies Sentinel setup program. Choose menu
Functions/Install Sentinel Driver: the Rainbow
Technologies Sentinel program will prompt you
for the path of the Sentinel Files. Make sure
this value is "." (a single dot), then
press OK.
|
 |
|
A confirmation message should appear notifying
you of the outcome of the operation: make sure
everything is in order, then close the Sentinel
Driver Setup Program.

WizTom Studio |

Choosing
the Right Version of WizTom Studio
WizTom Studio is the main environment used to
manage the localization projects for all of your
projects. It comes in two versions:
WizTom
Studio, ANSI Version: for all Windows platforms;
WizTom
Studio, Unicode Version: only for Windows
NT4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
The Unicode version is used when the target languages
do not have compatible codepages: for instance,
the project's original language is French and
it should be translated into Arabic and Japanese.
Additionally, WizTom for the Web requires that
the computer runs a Server version of Windows:
Windows NT4 (with Service Pack 4 or above), Windows
2000 or Windows XP. WizTom for the Web will not
run on Windows 95/98/Me.
We recommend you choose WizTom Studio, ANSI version
if you are using Windows 95, 98 or Me. Otherwise,
choose WizTom Studio Unicode.

Installing
WizTom Studio
To install WizTom Studio, double-click on the
right version of WizTom Studio for your environment
(or select the WizTom Studio icon and click on
the Install button). The WizArt Installer will
first prepare files for the selected item.
An installation window then opens up to let
you choose the installation folder and the Program
folder for WizTom Studio's shortcut in the Windows
Start Menu. By default, they are set to "C:\WizArt"
and "WizArt" respectively. Feel free
to change this setting as you please. Validate
by clicking on the Install button.

Installing
Extensions
If you are working on a Windows application,
you may need an Extension for your project. Extensions
bring full support for specific runtime environments
associated to the various development tools WizTom
supports. For instance, if your application was
developped with PowerBuilder, you should install
the PowerBuilder Extension.
Make sure that any Extension you add to your
installation is located in the same folder as
WizTom Studio. Otherwise, WizTom for Windows will
not find the Extension.
For Windows projects, it is recommended you install
the "Windows 32bit Extractor" as well.
|
 |
|
For Web projects, you may want to install the
Web Translation Pad or the XML Extension.
