Translation Pad - Translating a Multilingual
Database |

When the Multilingual Database is opened,
you can start working on the translations.
The easiest way to work with it is to directly
type the translation in the grid view next
to the original strings.
For longer strings and HTML paragraphs,
for example, it will be easier to work in
the HTML editor, below the grid view. This
component enables you to integrate colors,
change fonts, etc. in the translation, without
knowing anything about HTML!

The WizTom Translation Pad Toolbar makes
all functionalities available with just
one mouse click. If you are not used to
WizTom Translation Pad, you will first prefer
to click on the first icon, which displays
a menu as shown below.

Once you get used to the Translation Pad,
you can directly click on one of the toolbar
icons to carry out the action you want.
|
Open Thesaurus:
|
|
opens a thesaurus or Translation
Pad file
|
|
Save Thesaurus:
|
saves the current file
|
|
Send Thesaurus Back:
|
sends the file back to the project
manager if the project from which
the thesaurus file comes from was
configured properly
|
|
Get Thesaurus Properties:
|
displays the thesaurus properties
|
|
Duplicate:
|
copies the string from the reference
cell to the translation cell
|
|
Find Text:
|
finds a string in the thesaurus
|
|
Replace:
|
finds and replaces a string in the
thesaurus
|
|
Edit Mode:
|
shows the lower panels. This is most
helpful when translating long strings
or HTML paragraphs
|
|
Enable HTML Editor:
|
turns on the HTML WYSIWYG Editor.
This is useful when translating HTML
paragraphs only
|
|
Show/Hide Translated Texts:
|
hides translated texts so you can
see only what remains that must be
translated
|
|
Show Larger Texts:
|
shows only entries for which translations
are longer (in characters) than their
original string
|
|
Sort Entries:
|
sorts entries in the thesaurus by
original string in alphabetical order
|
|
Synchronize Text with Section:
|
in "All Texts" view, jumps to the
section containing the text currently
selected
|
|
Spell Checking:
|
if available, Microsoft Word's
Spell Checker will be launched to
check the spelling of the translations
|
|
Trados Translation Memory:
|
if available, Trados Translation
Memory will be launched to make existing
translations directly available to
WizTom
|
|
Statistics:
|
displays information about the thesaurus:
count of entries and words, completion
rates, etc.
|

back
